San Francisco 49ers at Los Angeles Rams

Ridiculous to be playing ANY regular season game outside of the US – but tis Goodell’s NFL – anything for a dime. A key game which will matter – the Super Bowl favorite Rams look sloppy but eke out a close one.

Chicago Bears at Carolina Panthers

Both teams have high expectations after surprising playoff season. Caleb Williams continues to thrive under Ben Johnson resulting in a season opening road victory.

Baltimore Ravens at Indianapolis Colts

New HC Jesse Minter’s first game will be on the road versus a mystery team in the Colts. Will Daniel Jones be healthy? In a tight ugly game, the Ravens pull out the victory.

Atlanta Falcons at Pittsburgh Steelers

Tua wins the job in Atlanta – his new HC Kevin Stefanski has a ton of experience vs the Steelers with some success. The Mike McCarthy era starts in Pittsburgh – with a victory.

Cleveland Browns at Jacksonville Jaguars

Deshaun Watson and the Browns travel to Jacksonville has heavy underdogs (+8). Trevor Lawrence and the offense have a big day while their defense shut down the hapless Browns.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Cincinnati Bengals

Baker Mayfield has been a tough matchup for the Bengals. He and the Bucs enter 2026 after a disappointing 2025 campaign. The Bengals can say the same – but their hopes are much higher after a promising offseason and a healthy Joe Burrow. In what could be the game of the day – Cincy wins the home opener.

New York Jets at Tennessee Titans

Two teams with plenty of question marks square off in Tennessee. Former Jets HC Robert Saleh leads the Titans – a team with potential. The J-E-T-S did some nice things but still have a big question mark at QB with veteran journeyman Geno Smith. Cam Ward looks much better with Brian Daboll as OC.

New Orleans Saints at Detroit Lions

The Saints were a team on the rise last season. They will be a team to reckon with in the weak NFC South but opening in Detroit will be a tall task. The Lions could very well win the NFC. Goff and mates have a big day.

Buffalo Bills at Houston Texans

A titanic tilt right out of the gate. Josh Allen ran for his life when these two squads squared off last season. The Texans’ defense may be the best in the entire league. They keep Allen on the run but this time he finishes.

Arizona Cardinals at Los Angeles Chargers

The Cardinals are probably the worst team in the league. They will start journeyman Jacoby Brissett vs a Chargers team that will compete for the AFC West. Expect Justin Herbert to have a big day.

LAC 34 AZ 13

Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings

Two old rivals battle in week one. The expectations are high for Jordan Love and the Pack. The Vikings are under the radar a bit with new QB Kyler Murray. If healthy, Murray is a good fit for Kevin O’Connell’s offense.

MIN 27 GB 24

Miami Dolphins at Las Vegas Raiders

Two really bad teams face off in Sin City. Malik Willis will be under center for a Dolphins squad that is severely lacking in talent. Excitement was suppressed a bit with the news of Kirk Cousins starting at QB instead of ballyhooed rookie Fernando Mendoza. Regardless, Cousins has a nice day as does the Raiders defense.

Washington Commanders at Philadelphia Eagles

Jayden Daniels is back – although appears to be in diva fashion. Regardless, Washington’s roster has improved. The Eagles are looking to bounce back from a disappointing loss to the 49ers in the playoffs. Philly grinds out a victory.

PHI 24 WASH 20

8:20 PM

Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants

High expectations for the Cowboys – the debut of John Harbaugh as the new HC of the G-Men – makes this a perfect game for SNF. The Giants have some talent – now a Bonafide head coach. Jaxson Dart plays well but Prescott and the Boys win a shootout.

Denver at Kansas City

A huge tilt in the competitive AFC West. Mahomes is coming off major knee surgery – hoping to prove he is his old self after the Chiefs missed the playoffs last season. Sean Payton continues to be Sean Payton – just winning. This should be a physical – tight game from start to finish. In a grinder – Bo Nix’ legs are the difference.
